PFJA concerned about press freedom scenario (International Press Freedom Day

Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) has expressed concern
over press freedom situation in Pakistan.
The PFJA in its meeting condemned rising events of attacks on Press
properties in a bid to harass journalists and gag the press and Media. The
meeting chaired by PFJA President Iqbal Yousafi also deplored violence
against journalists. "At least 60 journalists got injuries or faced
violence last year while performing their duties and another18 were
arrested during dispensation of their duties", he said.
The meeting also demanded immediate arrest of the killers of six
journalists slain or shoot dead in one year. Mazhar Ali Adeeb and Khalid
Latif also attened the meeting.
