Yousafi, Thursday called on Information Secretary and PTV chairman Syed
Anwar Mahmood and discussed with him Press Council draft and the policy of
issuing declaration.
The information secretary disclosed that Press Council's draft had been
prepared and consent of both the parties had been acquired. Yousafi
directed the attention of Information Secratary towards the ills and consequences of the declaration' free policy.
Iqbal Yousafi further directed the attention of PTV chairman towards the programmes broadcast on television whose sole aim who was to spread despair and vullgarity in the society. Secretary said strict notice would be taken against such programmes and assured that now onward objective programmes would be broadcast on television.
