PFJA Stages Protest Rally Against Killing of Journalist Hayatullah Khan

Lahore – The Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) staged a protest rally against the brutal killing of Hayatullah Khan, a journalist from North Waziristan Agency.

The protesters, led by PFJA President Iqbal Yousufi, appealed to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the incident. Chanting slogans against the government, they demanded that the administration immediately arrest the kidnappers and killers of the tribal journalist.

لاہور – پاکستان فری لانس جرنلسٹس ایسوسی ایشن (پی ایف جے اے) نے شمالی وزیرستان کے صحافی حیات اللہ خان کے بہیمانہ قتل کے خلاف احتجاجی ریلی نکالی۔

احتجاجی مظاہرین کی قیادت پی ایف جے اے کے صدر اقبال یوسفی نے کی۔ مظاہرین نے سپریم کورٹ کے چیف جسٹس سے واقعے کا ازخود نوٹس لینے کی اپیل کی۔ انہوں نے حکومت کے خلاف نعرے لگائے اور انتظامیہ سے مطالبہ کیا کہ قبائلی صحافی کے اغوا کاروں اور قاتلوں کو فوری طور پر گرفتار کیا جائے۔




PFJA Condemns Killing of Journalists in Wana, Criticizes Govt’s Response

The Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) has expressed deep grief and concern over the killing of two journalists by snipers in Wana.

PFJA President Iqbal Yousufi strongly condemned the government for its lopsided and inadequate response to the tragedy.

In a meeting, the association observed that the meagre amount of compensation announced for the families of the slain journalists reflected the low priority the government attaches to the lives of an important section of society.
