لاہور (پ ر) آزاد صحافیوں کی تنظیم پاکستان فری لانس جرنٹس ایسوسی ایشن نے جنوبی وزیرستان کے صحافی سیلاب محمود کو غیر قانونی طور پر ہراساں کرنے اور سزا دینے کی شدید مذمت کی ہے۔ ایسوسی ایشن کے صدر اقبال یوسفی نے جنوبی وزیرستان کے پولیٹکل ایجنٹ کی جانب سے صحافی کو سزا دینے کو مجرمانہ فعل قرار دیا

اور کہا کہ پولیٹکل ایجنٹ نے ہیروئن کے سنگین مقدمے میں مطلوب سابق وزیر کو اپنے علاقے میں خفیہ مقام پر پناہ دے رکھی تھی اور مذکورہ صحافی مفرور ملزم تک رسائل حاصل کرنے میں کامیاب ہو گیا تھا۔ انہوں نے صدر پاکستان اور وزیر اعظم سے اپیل کی کہ وہ پولیٹکل ایجنٹ کی غیر قانونی سرگرمیوں کا فوری نوٹس لے اور ایک ٹیلی گرام میں صحافی کو رہا کرانے کا مطالبہ کیا۔

PFJA condemns action against journalist

NOV. 3: Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association has strongly condemned the illegal punishment meted out to a Journalist Mr. Mehmood to harass him. The president of the association Mr. Iqbal Yousufi has described this act of the political agent criminal. of South Waziristan as criminal.

He described the conduct of the political agent as collusive in respect to the ex-minister and notorious smuggler allegedly involved in heroin case. Mr. Yousafi has also sent telegram to the President & Prime Minister in which he has requested them to take notice of the serious criminal conduct of the political agent and has sought his dismissal & immediate release of patriotic & dutiful Journalist.

لاہور (پ ر) پنجاب کے مختلف ڈویژنوں میں وزیر اعلیٰ کے مشیر برائے اینٹی کرپشن غلام عباس نے فری لانس صحافیوں کو اینٹی کرپشن کمیٹی کا ممبر نامزد کیا ہے۔ ان صحافیوں میں خالد پرویز ملک نعیم قریشی ، مظہر علی ادیب، نوید بخاری محمد افسر خان بلوچ کوکب خان ظفر اور کمال رضوی شامل ہیں۔ ان کی نامزدگی لاہور، ملتان، راولپنڈی فیصل آباد اور گوجرانوالہ ڈویژنوں کے لئے کی گئی ہے.

ADVISOR to CM for Anti Corruption has nominated Naeem Qureshi, Khalid Pervaiz Malik (Sheikhupura), Mazhar Ali Adeeb (Lahore), Kamal Rizvi (Rawalpindi), Afsar Khan (Multan) and Kokab Khan Zaar (Lahore), all freelance journalists as members of Anti-corruption Committee.The Freelance Journalists Association has hailed the decision and hoped that the nominated journalists will work day and night against corruption. -PR

صحافیوں پر تشدد بد انتظامی کی بدترین مثال ہے، جو قابل مذمت ہے

(پ ر) آزاد صحافیوں کی تنظیم پاکستان فری لانس جرنلسٹس ایسوی ایشن نے لاہور میں صحافیوں پر پولیس تشدد کے شرمناک واقع کی شدید خدمت کرتے ہوئے ذمہ داروں کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ ایسوسی ایشن کے صدر اقبال یوسفی نے پی ایف ہے اے کے ایک پریس ریلیز میں موجودہ حکومت کے دور میں محنوب پر پولیس تشدد کا افسوسناک واقعہ بد انتظامی کی بدترین مثل ہے جس کی جس قدر مذمت کی جائے کم ہے۔۔ پی ایف جے اے کے صدر اقبال یوسفی نے گورنر پنجاب کور کمانڈر اور آئی جی پولیس سے واقعہ کی تحقیقات کرانے اور ذمہ دار افراد کو قرار واقعی سزا دینے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔

Lashari's appointment as info secy hailed

LAHORE: The Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) Wednesday hailed the posting of Kamran Lashari as the Punjab information secretary. In a press release, the Association said Lashari always took interest in journalists' problems. PFJA President Iqbal Yousafi said Lashari was an active and effective officer.

کو لمبو میں سارک ممالک کی صحافی تنظیموں کے نمائندوں کا اجلاس، سری لنکا کی صدر نے صدارت کی

 سارک ممالک کی صحافی تنظیموں کا خصوصی اجلاس سری لنکا کے دارالحکومت کولمبو میں ہوا ۔ میزبان تنظیم سری لنکا یونین آف جرنلسٹس تھی۔ تقریب کا افتتاح سری لنکا کی صدر نے کیا جبکہ دوسرے اجلاس کا افتتاح سری لنکا کے وزیر اطلاعات نے کیا

اجلاس میں بھارت ، سری لنکا، پاکستان،  بنگلہ دیش سمیت علاقے کے تمام ممالک کی تنظیموں کے 21 نمائندوں نے شرکت کی۔ نمائندوں نے اختلافات " علاقے میں انسانی حقوق اور پریس کی آزادی پر اپنے اپنے ممالک کی رپورٹیں دیں ۔ نیپال اور پاکستان کے نمائندوں نے بھارت کی جانب سے بعض امور میں مداخلت کا الزام لگایا۔ پاکستانی مندوب اور پی ایف جے اے کے صدر اقبال یوسفی نے اپنی تقریر میں بھارت پر الزام عائد کیا کہ وہ پاکستانی صحافیوں کو ویزا دینے کے بعد اپنے ملک میں ہراساں کرتا ہے اور ان کے لئے انتظامیہ اور ایجنسیاں طرح طرح کی مشکلات پیدا کرتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے گذشتہ سال پاکستانی ماہوار رسالے کے ایڈیٹر محمد اظہر مسعود کی بھارت میں گرفتار کر لینے اور ان کو تشدد کا نشانہ بنانے کے افسوسناک واقعہ کی مثال دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ وہ صحافی ابھی تک لاپتہ ہے۔ مسٹر یو سفی نے کہا جبکہ پاکستان میں بھارت سے آئے ہوئے کسی بھی صحافی کو تشدد کا نشانہ بنانا تو درکنار اس کو کسی نے پو چھا تک نہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کوئی صحافی بھارتی سفارتخانے کو مشکوک دکھائی دیتا ہے تو ان کو ویزا ہی جاری نہ کیا جائے۔ اس طرح ویزا جاری کر کے شکار کی طرح جال میں پھنسانا بدترین سفارتی غنڈہ گردی ہے۔ اقبال یوسفی کے اس احتجاج پے اجلاس میں شریک بھارت کے چھ نمائندوں نے اس مسلے پر اپنی حکومت سے بات کرنے کی یقین دہانی کرائی۔ مسٹر اقبال یو سفی کے اس مطالبے کی سارک ممالک کے تمام نمائندوں نے بھرپور حمایت کی۔ سارک ممالک کی صحافی تنظیموں کے نمائندوں کا اجلاس کولمبو میں پانچ دن جاری رہا۔ اجلاس میں صحافیوں کی بین الاقوامی تنظیم انٹرنیشنل فیڈریشن آف جرنمٹس کے جنرل سیکرٹری مسٹر ایڈن وائٹ ، سنگاپور کی تنظیم اور ایف ای ایس کے نمائندوں نے بھی شرکت کی۔ اجلاس کے دوران انسانی حقوق ، علاقائی مسائل اور صحافت پر مقامی حالات کے اثرات پر سری لنکا کے معروف دانشوروں نے خصوصی لیکچرز بھی دیئے۔

Sureli, venerable journalist and member of Pakistan Movement, with
Quaid-i-Azam Badge.
Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) started its
Independence Day celebrations by pinning Quaid-e-Azam Badge on ZA Sureli,
senior editor of The News.
Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) President Iqbal
Yousafi, along with Ibrahim Tahir, Naeem Qureshi, Mazhar Ali Adeeb, Kaukab
Khan, Khalil Qureshi and Rehman Zulfi, paid rich tributes to ZA Sureli for
his contribution in Pakistan Movement. Speaking on the occasion, ZA Sureli
revealed when they brought out a procession in London in favour of
Pakistan, the English people, observing their enthusiasm, said they would
succeed one day in establishishing their own homeland. He advised the youth
especially the journalists to work for the solidarity of the country
following the foot steps of Quaid-e-Azam.

Chief Justice's reinstatement celebrated

Lahore - Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) has urged
Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo moto action over Lal Masjid incident,
Karachi killings, detention of Dr AQ Khan and killing of Akbar Bugti.
Addressing a function held to celebrate reinstatement of Cheif Justice
of Pakistan, PFJA President Iqbal Yousafi said solidarity and integrity of
the country was at stake. He appreciated the media's role during judicial
crisis, which, he said, faced pressure and played commendable role.

PFJA concerned about press freedom scenario (International Press Freedom Day

Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) has expressed concern
over press freedom situation in Pakistan.
The PFJA in its meeting condemned rising events of attacks on Press
properties in a bid to harass journalists and gag the press and Media. The
meeting chaired by PFJA President Iqbal Yousafi also deplored violence
against journalists. "At least 60 journalists got injuries or faced
violence last year while performing their duties and another18 were
arrested during dispensation of their duties", he said.
The meeting also demanded immediate arrest of the killers of six
journalists slain or shoot dead in one year. Mazhar Ali Adeeb and Khalid
Latif also attened the meeting.

PFJA protests journalist's killing

Lahore - Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) staged a protest
rally against the killing of Hayatullah Khan, a journalist of North
Waziristan Agency.
The protesters, led by PFJA President Iqbal Yousafi, appealed to the
Supreme Court Chief Justice to take suo moto notice of the gory incident.
Chanting slogans against the government, they demanded of administration
to immediately arrest the Kidnappers and Killers of the tribal journalist.

PFJA condemns PAPRA

Lahore - Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) President Iqbal
Yousafi has condemned the establishment of Press And Publications
Authority.
He said institutions like NEPRA and OGRA were also made for the
betterment of the people, but they had miserably failed to deliver and it
would happen with PAPRA as well.
He said in develop countries the rules and regulations of Print Media
were made by the Press Council, which met the international standards,
acceptable to all. Yousafi said that the Information Minister had prepared
the draft for Press Council in which the PFJA also presented some proposals
but for some reasons it could not be implemenented.
He said efforts will be continued to oppose the establishment of PAPRA
and the PFJA will support APNS and CPNE in this regard.

Journalist body lauds CJP, flays attck on Geo Tv

The Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) have pledged to offer
every sacrifice for the freedom of Press and independence of judiciary. The
PFJA also congratulated Cheif Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary for his
firm stand, saying that he was on right path. If the reference had any
thing true, the CJ could have been black mailed, it said. PFJA President
Iqbal Yousafi blasted government for attack on Geo TV and The News offices.
He said the hidden hands also tried to attack on another TV channel but
they failed to do so.The PFJA President said the CJ was the first man who
gave the relief to the people that was why the whole nation was with him.

100 newsmen killed in 1994

More than 100 journalists were killed in 1994, the wrost year on record for
media staff killed while on duty.
Killings in Algeria & Rawanda dominated a year in which genocide, civil
war & social conflict claimed over 100 lives of journalists & media
workers, says survey report of Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association
(PFJA). In Russia journalists were killed by Mafia.
Even in Pakistan Muhammad Salahuddin, a well-know journalist & editor of
a weekly was barbically murdered in the day light due to his independent
thinking & writings, Rana Javed of The News was murdered by policemen
recently. Journalists in Germany, France, United States, Japan, Belgium &
England however were safe in all respect.
