PFJA to fight cases of jailed journalists

The Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) has decided to gather
to bio-datas of journalists imprisoned in various jails of the country.
The Pakistan Freelance Journalists Association (PFJA) has decided to
fight their cases.
The Freelance Journalists have contacted the home secretaries of all
four provinces in this connection.
President PFJA, Iqbal Yousafi revealed that he was contacted by two
journalists who are in jails. One of them was implicated in a false case on
behalf of a former Chief Minister of Punjab, said Yousafi.
The valuables he possessed at the time of arrest, were appropriated by
the police.
In a statement, Yousafi further said that Shamshad Chaudhary has been
given 'B' class due to the efforts of the association and a free legal aid
committee for journalists will be set up soon.
